Description

Lucy's ideal home

Lucy is looking for a home where she can be the only pet and where any children are over the age of 10. She is house trained and once settled could be left for around 3-4 hours, but may have the odd accident if left for too long.

Could you be Lucy's perfect match?

Lucy is a nervous but sweet little girl who is finding all the changes of kennel life a little worrying. She enjoys getting out and exploring our walking areas and does pull a little on lead, but as she is only small this is fairly manageable and could be worked on as she is young and bright. Lucy struggles to walk in busy areas and can become quite frustrated and reactive towards other dogs. Adopters should consider this and allow her some time to settle before attempting any long walks in busy areas. Access to one or two quiet walking routes would be ideal for Lucy, rather than lots of different places. Once she has gotten to know you well Lucy is an affectionate girl and loves a fuss, but it is always best to let her come to you first and enjoy fuss on her own terms. Luc is quite conflicted when it comes to other dogs, and easily becomes overwhelmed. She would benefit from some easy does it socialisation, closely following the guidance and advice from our training team who will be happy to support adopters to help set Lucy up for the best possible success.

Chihuahua Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Chihuahua.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
