Salt's ideal home

Salt needs a home without children but she can live with a small quiet dog. She isn't fully house trained but does use puppy pads. She will need someone at home with her most of the day.

Tiny Salt is a nervous girl who is finding the centre to be a worrying place. She has learned to trust her carers but she still likes to be reassured about things when she's with them, so she's looking for a special family that will understand her need for them to go slowly with her. Salt doesn't like sudden movements or loud noises and is nervous of large vehicles and new spaces. She should definitely be given lots of time to settle in to her new home before being introduced to new neighbours or family members. We're happy to rehome her with another small and quiet dog as she does enjoy their company. One thing we've learned about Salt is that she just loves her food! It's a great way to make friends with her.

Chihuahua Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Chihuahua.

View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
