Harvey's ideal home

Harvey is looking for a fun home, with adopters who will take him on lots of fun adventures, play with him and give him all of the love and care he deserves. He can live with children aged 8 and over who will play with him nicely and will give him space to relax and rest when needed. Harvey could live with another dog who will happily co-exist and will engage in some occasional play, he cannot live with cats or other small furries. He likes the company of other dogs so would be happy with friendly walking buddies. He has a little training under his belt, he does a lovely “sit” and is willing to learn new things in short, sweet sessions if a tasty treat is on offer. He will need a refresher on his housetraining in his new home so access to a private, secure garden is needed. Harvey gets a little worried being left, any time left alone would need to be built up slowly once he has had time to settle into his new home and routine and would ideally be after a walk so he can relax and have a snooze! Harvey will need to meet his adopters a few times prior to going home so please bear this in mind when applying. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes up to 7 days, and potential adopters would be required to come up to the centre to meet him within 48hrs of being shortlisted.

Cuddly and affectionate boy Harvey is a 10 month old Chihuahua cross who loves to be around people. He loves nothing more than a good snuggle on the sofa, the perfect little lap dog. He absolutely adores toys, he likes tennis balls and squeaky toys and will chase around after them, but ragger toys are his favourite and he will happily play a game of tuggy! He is a bit of a foodie boy and takes treats gently from the hand, he loves to do a training session if a tasty treat is on offer. This cute little lad is on the hunt for his new family.

Chihuahua Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Chihuahua.

View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
