Description

Sooty's ideal home

Sooty is a sweet 7 year old chap who loves the company of his favourite people. A gentle approach is needed when first getting to know him, but you'll know when you've earned his trust, as Sooty will nudge into your hands when he wants a fuss! However, he can be uncomfortable with 'formal' types of handling. Sooty is able to share his new home with children over 16 years old and will need to be the only animal in his new home. Quieter walks will be required for Sooty, as he is currently underconfident when it comes to meeting other dogs, he has been known to play with some dogs however others he prefers to keep his distance.

Could you be Sooty's perfect match?

Sooty the Chihuahua cross Pomeranian has a very endearing character. His perfect match would be with understanding adopters, who have the patience to build up a loving bond. He likes to offer a lovely ‘sit’, or ‘paw’ in exchange for a tasty treat, and this is a great way to begin making friends with him. As well as spending time with his favourite people, Sooty loves exploring the outdoors and pottering about in exciting new places! He's always keen to learn and is making great progress with his training with support from his carers. If you would like more information about adopting any of our dogs, or you are considering a variety of dogs and would like our team’s help to find your pawfect match, we would love you to visit us at our rehoming centre to chat with us in person. We are open between 12pm and 4pm every day, except for Wednesdays and Fridays when we are closed.

Chihuahua Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Chihuahua.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
